Can you keep a baby deer that you found in the middle of the road??

can you keep a baby deer that you found in the middle of the road?? I know for sure the mommy was died because she was laying in the side of the road. If there is a way. How?Can you keep a baby deer that you found in the middle of the road??
You need to contact fish and game in your area. You usually have to have a license to care for ';wild'; animals.

It was good of you to rescue it, poor baby. Even sadder, a deer that is raised by people can never be returned to the wild. He'll have to live his whole life in captivity.

Call the pros, they know what to do. Best of luck! Can you keep a baby deer that you found in the middle of the road??
Don't do it, or you'll have an obnoxious pet. Once the animal learns to get food from people, it will approach them all the time. And that includes hunters.

You may want to ';rescue'; the deer, but you will only be harming it. Either leave it alone, or leave it there and call the local SPCA, or wildlife rescue agency, or DNR, or conservation officer, or whatever you have in your area. They will be able to deal with it better than you can.
Every state has wildlife rehabbers, do a google search for 'wildlife rehab' and your city's name. If none come up, you can widen your search to the next nearest (larger) city. Or call a local vet and ask if they know anyone licensed. The rehabber can take the deer and raise it, releasing it back to the wild once it's large enough.

Sometimes the Humane Society has a rehabber on staff, you can call them too.
I know for a fact that -if you take care of it properly- it's okay to keep deer as long as you're out of the city limits. A few of my friends have/had deer and they were just as healthy as the ones in the woods or the in zoo. You just have to give them plenty of space to run and graze and take VERY good care of them. They're picky animals so be attentive. :)
nope last year in my state a family that had a rach and all the thing a deer would need to live and they took in an injured deer and after like a year they had to give it up cause in my state its illegal to house wild life
no your not supposed to. If you do and your caught the wildlife department will fine you for sure. But I have heard of people getting permits to keep wildlife. check with them first
You are doing OK. Call the wild life center or your fish and game people and they should connect you with a wildlife rehabilitator who should take care of the deer. You can't keep it.
nope, but you can call your local wildlife rescue shelter.
nope DNR will fine the poop out of you if you're caught
if i were u i'd call a vet or aspca asap and just tell them what happened
i dont think so
