Whats a good rifle to kill big game animals? Bears, Elk, moose, mule deer, whitetail deer?

The Best choice is the 30-06 caliber rifle because you have a greater variety of bullet weights to choose from for Hunting Varmints or Big Game.* The 30-06 earned its name and reputation after making 15 consecutive one-shot kills on American Game.*. Magnums are not needed or necessary to harvest any Animal in North America.* The 30-06 and the 30-30 have harvested more Game than any other Caliber Rifles.* Purchase a Remington or Savage Brand bolt action Rifle in 30-06.*Whats a good rifle to kill big game animals? I too like the Ruger #1 and own one (Ruger #1-H) in .458 Winchester Magnum and another one (a stainless) in .375 H%26amp;H Magnum. If you don't like single-shot rifles consider a quality bolt action rifle chambered in anything .30-06 to say .375 H%26amp;H. The .338 Winchester Magnum or any of the new variants will cover all your bases. Ruger offers big game hunting bolt-action rifles in some new Ruger calibers such as .338 and .375 Ruger also. These rifles can be as high as a couple of thousand US dollars but well worth the asking price.

Big bears change the answer...If you are talking about hunting brown bears, something like a .35 Whelen, 9.3x62, .375 H%26amp;H(or Ruger) and up would be your best bet, if you can shoot them well. My ';medium bore'; is a 9.3x62 on a FN mauser that shoots 286gr partitions lights out. I haven't had a chance to go bear hunting with it but it does the trick on elk and moose. Dead right there with proper shot placement. Can big bears be killed with less? Yes, but I like big, heavy bullets for dangerous game like that.
.300WSM, 30-06, 7mm Rem Mag., .270 Win., 280 Rem. or just about any of the .30 calibers. If you are including grizzly bear or larger everything changes. You would have to over gun yourself for deer. Here you'd be looking at the .300 Win Mags. and larger.
I think that this is what you want:

Depends on if you mean grizzly or black bear.

If you meant Grizzly then i would suggest something like a 338. win mag or a 300. win mag

if you meant black bear i would suggest a 30-06 or a 270. win
I have a .300 win mag that I would not hesitate to shoot any of the above with. It is a bit big for whitetails, but certainly did the trick this year for me.
All of these animals have been hunted successfully with a 30-06 rifle. (Maybe not the exact same rifle, but you know what I mean.)
