Your best bet is to go from a legitimate breeder and not from a pet store. Too many chis in pet stores are bred in puppy mills and are so susceptible to health problems. In my experience with these wonderful little dogs, long coats tend to have more deer headed than short coats. You should be able to find a breeder that could offer you either. It is much better to go find a breeder because you can pay upwards of $1700 for a chihuahua pup from a pet store (not an exaggeration at all, I was just at Animal Kingdom the other day looking at pups and they even had one for 2100) whereas breeders are much more reasonable (we got my chi for $700)
