Why Would A Deer Kick His Friends?

I was feeding apples to a family of 12 deer at my parents' home, as I always do, and out of the blue one deer initiates a kicking frenzy with three others. Why did he do this? Why Would A Deer Kick His Friends?
He could be the big guy on campus, the dominant male, and he's the one that gets to eat first. So he's reminding the others who's the boss. The others may have been less submissive than they should have been around him. Because food is scarce in the winter, they may have been a little more competitive than in better food times.

Animal behavior is defined by survival. The herd needs a boss to survive and reproduce. So they're probably not ';friends'; like human friends. They're just doing what they do to benefit their survival. Why Would A Deer Kick His Friends?
they were celebrating..! too much sugar
well it was because you were feeding them. they were fighting over the apples.
simple natural dominance.

.
What makes you think they were his freinds? Did this deer have antlers? That is, are you sure it was a Him?
LOL..
i think he was just playing...i took some video of deer in our apple orchard once and one of them was running around the other 2 acting the same way...i guess the apples are probably a coincidence
deer dont have ';friends.'; A dominance display would account for this.
Well, animals are a lot like people. Some of them act badly because they've had a hard life, or have been mistreated...but, like people, some of them are just jerks.
Maybe it was a male deer, it was rut season, and the male deer kicked other male deers.

I would have used a ?, but that is not allowed even where it fits...stupid, eh?...they give you violations / deletions.
