In my humble opinion, NO all they seem to do is get the deer's attention, while driving without a deer whistle i can drive by many ';highway deer'; most times they don't even raise there heads. Where as with a deer whistle it gets there attention then you have no idea what there intention is. A deer whistle works like a turbo in a diesel engine, as soon as the sound changes this will get the deer to raise there heads %26amp; possible bolt out in front of ya.

Not at all. Deer come out to feed on the nice green grass that grows beside the highway. Man forests dont have many open areas for large amounts of grass to grow, that's why so many gather around the highway. When deer have been feeding by the highway since birth then they have no fear of autos. Old trucks and cars whistle by themselves and cars make all kinds of noises that should scare of deer but the deer have become accustom to our noises.
a fawn bleat works good during the rut . The does will come and the bucks will follow.
