Put some tabasco sauce or hot sauce on the on the plant. It will do no harm to the plant or deer.

They've had good results with wolf urine sprayed on roadsides where deer/car collisions are frequent. How and where you get wolf urine is up to you but I'd be careful.Do you know of any deer repellent that works?
